I actually got some pictures of him escaping. This top one is the end result.

Escape
JD has always been a mover. Ever since he was born he has been in constant motion. He used to love to kick his legs, and now that he is almost crawling, it has become quite a challenge to get him dressed. He often ends up with his diaper or pants crooked. I have gotten pretty good at getting his pants and socks on him while he is on his tummy. I just love those pretty little lips and big blue eyes under his darling red hair. He is seeing what is under the changing mat. He also loves playing with his aquafor and desitin bottles.

Blink
JD has started blinking his eyes whenever I get out the camera. I don't know if he is trying to avoid the flash or if he is fake smiling for the camera, but I was lucky enough to get a video of him doing it. It sure makes it difficult to get a picture where his eyes are open.
Still Winter
There are many things to love about Rexburg, but the weather is not one of them. It makes me feel a little better to know that they are still getting snow in other parts of the country, but the continuation of winter is getting pretty old. JD and I are simply trapped inside, and after a very short afternoon nap, it is going to be a long haul until Edmund gets home and JD's bedtime. Fortunately, there are always baths that need taken. JD absolutely loves his bath. I feel lucky to have such a smiley talkative little guy that would happily spend thirty minutes in the sink if I let him.

Jonathan Dieter
Jonathan loves books and being read too. He is always so full of smiles when I hold him on my lap and read him some of his favorites: Barnyard Dance, The Creation, Rock and Roll Colors. The other day while I was practicing, he rolled over to the book case and started trying to pull the books out. He was sucessful with a couple of books, but he didn't like it when they fell down onto the wood of the shelf and made a loud noise.

Here We Go
After seeing blogs from my sister and sister-in-law, I've decided to start my own. I'm excited to document the small developments that take place in my family on a periodic basis. I wish that I had started this when JD was just born, but I was resisting. I feel like I have so much to catch up on that I'm pretty sure I would never be able to post everything, so I'll just start from now, and maybe add some past highlights if I get a chance.
