Christmas

I don't know what to say about Christmas except it was awesome! I was nervous about doing it just ourselves and not going anywhere, but it was really nice and fun. It was very exciting to get everything ready for Santa and watching the boys open their presents was amazing. I think we all felt spoiled.

Christmas Eve

Our friends Tyler and Kelsey told us about a live nativity out in Burton (a short 6 min drive). It was great. They did a really short nativity play with live animals and some carols.  Afterwards, we went back to our house and had cinnamon rolls and tea. The best part of the whole thing was Jonathan standing on the hay bale and shouting so everyone could hear, "Lion! Lion! Dog! Doggy!" The sheep he thought was a lion is in the picture below, and the dog is in front of the manger. Edmund took him to go pet the dog and the sheep after it was over. Jonathan loved it. He told me all about it Christmas morning when he woke up, "Animals. Touch them."

Jonathan

It is pretty hard to get a good picture of Jonathan these days because he is always saying "look, look," and running over to the camera before I have even had the chance to take a picture. Since he has been putting so many phrases together lately, he has been saying the funniest things. He talks a bit like Yoda, putting the verbs at the end of his sentences. He generally has something to tell me when he wakes up from his nap. He also never forgets promises I make before he went to sleep. When I open the door to go get him, he'll say, "Books, read it." or "Snack, want it." or "Grocery store, go." The other day when I went in in the morning he sat up really fast and said, "Good nap!"

Boys

Jonathan loves to make David laugh, but he also has a hard time being gentle. He gets jealous very easily and wants to squeeze David a little too hard or give him a little smack on the head when I'm not looking. Generally, he controls himself and just wants to wrestle and cuddle David. They are both so amazing, and I love, love, love them!

David

Wow is David getting mobile fast. It seems like he just started rolling over, and now, if I turn my back for a second he is halfway across the room. He also knows what he wants. He cries if anyone (usually Jonathan) takes a toy away or doesn't give him the toy that he wants. He loves books. He is always wanting to chew on them, which I don't allow, so it makes him sad when I take them away. He also always wants Jonathan's cars. When Jonathan is not around, I let him chew on them, but Jonathan is very protective. We gave David his own car for Christmas, so now he has a car of his very own that Jonathan can't take away and say, "Mine!" David also loves big things. He loves the big balls more than anything. He just holds them up in the air and then rolls after them when they get away.

Daddy

Dad is a playground if he lies on the ground. Jonathan just loves climbing all over his legs and sliding down them. David is pretty happy as long as he is being held and smiled at.

Grand Junction Christmas

Since we are staying in Idaho for Christmas, Mom and Dad celebrated Christmas with us while we were there. We set up the tree while Jonathan and David were sleeping. When Jonathan woke up the next morning, he was very much in awe of the tree and the presents underneath. It reminded me of how magical Christmas was to me growing up.

We went to park later in the day.

Thanksgiving

It was a fantastic Thanksgiving feast. I liked everything I tasted, but most of all I loved hanging out with everyone after it was over. It was fun to play outside and enjoy the beautiful warm weather. We made a Christmas craft that turned out to be lots of fun, and Bubba read everyone ghost stories.

Too bad David was sleeping!

Hang!

Cleaning the kitchen. What a big job!

Edmund was trying out the smile detector on our camera. I wish I had a picture of Judd and I smiling.

Too much fun for Judd.
