Hats

Jonathan says some very funny things lately. The other day he was coming in from the garage and slamming the door he said, "I have a special problem. I'm too strong. It's a problem."

A few days after that he found the scissors. I was in my bedroom sorting laundry, and he came in holding a bunch of cut up sticky notes and said, "Look what I did. I didn't cut off my fingers or hands." I then took the scissors away and put them up high. He looked at me angrily and said, "Go fold laundry in your room." So I did. He came in a few minutes later and said, "Where'd you put the scissors?"

David and Jonathan love their fire hats.

We made masks in honor of Halloween. It was Jonathan's first sparkles and glue experience. He loved it.

Halloween

We went trick-or-treating with our friends on Halloween. Little Bailey had a gorgeous peacock costume that her Grandma had made for her, and our boys had on amazing costumes Grandma-Chelle had made! It was a rainy, cold evening, so we didn't stay out long, but we sure had fun. After many previous failures to put David in his costume, we had success on the night it really counted. Hooray!

Edmund was Walter White from Breaking Bad. We've never seen the show, but we figured it was a costume most people would recognize.

Pumkins

Carving pumpkins is something that Jonathan was looking forward to from the beginning of October. I think it signified to him the beginning of Halloween. We went to the pumpkin patch at he beginning of the month, so it was a long wait until the Monday before Halloween when we carved them. We picked the green pumpkin from an older couple's garden in the ward. What nice people. Jonathan wouldn't touch the pumpkin guts last year, but this year he thought it was a riot.

F is for Fire!

For the letter F day in preschool, my friend across the street organized for Jonathan and Lyncoln to go the the fire station. Unfortunately, the fire truck was not there. We did get to see the inside of the ambulance. The firefighters were disappointed (I think) to only have two very small preschoolers who didn't care about fire safety and in Jonathan's case screamed and ran away when the fireman put on his fire gear. Jonathan and David were very reluctant to sit next to him on the ground for a picture. It was cool to see the fire station. I've always wondered what they looked like on the inside. They have an entire work out room with weights and treadmills. They have two tiny bedrooms and a kitchen. You can live there. It is pretty cool. Jonathan hasn't changed his mind about being an astronaut though.

Park

This is the park by our house. The boys love it, and David has no problem climbing up this rock wall and is not afraid to go down the very steep slides. Jonathan is getting better at climbing up the little slide and the sloping tunnel. He is still my cautious little man, and he will not not go down any slide but the baby one. I love taking the boys here. It makes me happy to see them running around and playing so well together. I know that next year I'm going to miss having a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I really treasure how lucky I am to be able to stay home with them. I love watching them grow and learn.

Salt Lake Children's Museum

We took a one night vacation to Salt Lake a few weeks ago just to get out of Idaho and do something fun as a family. We stayed in a hotel with a pool and really enjoyed ourselves at the Children's Museum and the Conference Center. We didn't get much sleep, but it was still awesome and a very fun night away together.

Canadian Thanksgiving

We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving last Sunday. It was fun to eat yummy food and hang out with Adam, Elisabeth, and baby Charlotte. Hooray for family!
