First Haircut

Caleb's hair was officially in his eyes, so we had to cut it. I watched my friend cut Jonathan's hair, and she seemed to just pull it straight up and cut it, so I tried that with Caleb. I didn't want it too short, so I probably should have just trimmed the hair out of his eyes because what I did just didn't work. It is really uneven. Another hair cutting failure for me. I did save some and tape it into my journal. I have saved all the boys hair from their first hair cut. Jonathan's is super red, David's is a pretty honey brown, and Caleb's is dark dark.

Christmas

 Santa Came!

The boys got battery operated trains. So, we played trains all day. David put all his Pez candy into a freight car.

So much effort keeping that head up and rolling around!

 The new clothes dance.

It was an icy cold white Christmas! Edmund took the boys out. I felt overwhelmed just looking at the mess we'd made in the living room.

Jonathan stepped in the huge drift by our front door and lost his boot. Brrrrrr!

Christmas Eve

Jonathan wrote David's name on a present he picked out for him at Toys R Us. It was hard for him to not pick something for himself, but he thought about it and picked out a pack of cars for David. I helped him wrap it, and he wrote David's name all by himself.

Jonathan and David both wrote letters to Santa. Jonathan's says, "Thank you. You're Welcome. Thank you for writing my name. I have to tell you bad news. The abominable snowman, and I watched it. Fly Safely." Jonathan watched Rudolph this year. He loves the abominable snowman. He wrote his own J, O, D, and H. I think he was showing off his writing skills for Santa. David said, "Cars and Trucks." He drew a picture of a ball and a line.

German Dinner

We made a very yummy German dinner on the 23rd. We did it in honor of Edmund's dad and his German heritage. We made schnitzel and spaetzle and sour cream twists and pork hocks. It was a feast! Here are the sour cream twists. I had to make them twice because I killed the yeast the first time with the hot milk.
Caleb was such a sleepy boy. What a trooper!

Gingerbread Houses

We found this awesome gingerbread house kit at Winco. The boys loved putting candy all over the houses. It was fun to put them together and make our little gingerbread village. Jonathan did not want David to eat all the candy off the house. He wanted them to stay all pretty and decorated, but if I got the houses down for David, Jonathan had no problem eating the candy. Although, he did try to limit David's candy eating.

Just barely

I just barely got Caleb's stocking done in time. I was on a roll. I think it took only two hours to do the whole thing, but despite a warning from Edmund, I did not check with the other stockings, and Caleb's is backwards. Oh, well.

Boys

Caleb is in heaven in the jump-a-roo. He just goes crazy jumping his heart out. I love that toy!

David loves sitting in the stuffed animal bin. He just loves stuffed animals in general. He likes to dump them out then sit in the empty box and have me pile the animals back on top of him. Then, he pretends to go to sleep and jumps out of box spilling animals everywhere. My mom got us a subscription to National Geographic Kids. The magazine this month has an article about rabbits. David loves rabbits. Here he is showing his bunny the rabbits in the magazine.
Jonathan is helping pile animals on David. What a good big brother.

Preschool Program

Jonathan's preschool did a program the last day before Christmas Vacation. They were very adorable singing "Rudolph" and "You Better Watch Out" and "Jingle Bells." Jonathan was intimidated by all the people there and hardly sang or participated in the program, but his teacher reassured me that he sang along in class. I met a mom who had a baby who was born just a few days after Caleb. She told me that her uterus ruptured a month before her due date. I have concluded that childbirth is way more dangerous than I ever believed.

Toes and Rolls

Christmas Shirts

I bought all three boys matching Christmas shirts after Christmas last year. I just took the chance that I was going to have boy #3. They are so darling. I love all my boys so much!

Colorado Christmas

Caleb's baby blanket from Grandma-Chelle "Turtles and Geckos."

Fish

Edmund always goes fishing with my dad. He likes to fish, but I have a hard time letting him go when it takes most of a Saturday and the boys want him home and I want him home too. He is such a good sport. He had some luck with my Dad out at Island Acres. I love proud fishing pictures!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a long long day. I can't remember if the boys got up really early or if they were just out of sorts, but it was rough. I know I had a headache all day and Jonathan was struggling, he even took a nap, which he doesn't do anymore. We had fun despite it all! We went to the park while my brothers and some of the older kids played soccer. Juliette pushed David for a while. She was wearing soccer cleats, and David is very heavy. She was a trooper.

I love my Aunt CaMary's house and property. I feel like we had Thanksgiving at her house every year growing up. I remember playing in the tree house out in the woods and crossing the bridges and looking at the horses and goats and chickens and chasing the cats. I looked forward to it every year. It was so nice to do it again!

Uncle Lee has a golf cart and Clarissa got to drive it around with Chris and take the little ones for rides. It was such a beautiful day.

We missed Chris!

They kept having to scoot further and further away from the horse because it kept trying to bite Judd.
Judd got to pet the horse for a quick picture and then the horse made a grab for his ear.

Brynne played her cello book 4 recital. Beautiful! She played my favorite Bach Minuet.

Today in the car Jonathan told me that "Bubba is the BEST!"
