Rainbow

Edmund can wear whatever he wants to his new job, so rather than dress shirts, we've been collecting polos. Aeropostale has such a wide variety of bright happy colors, that Edmund now has an entire rainbow of the same shirt.

More Books

Jonathan is becoming better and better at pulling himself up. He has always loved pulling books out of the book case, but now he can reach the top shelf. I love watching him stand on his tip toes. He definitely has his favorite books. He pulls them down, drops them, then looks at me like, "Come get me and let's read that." He might even say, "blaw vlaw Mama" and make his cat noise (A meow with a closed mouth.).

Mommy and Daddy

Edmund and I love being parents. It is such a fun and hilarious experience watching Jonathan learn and grow. He has really started trying to imitate sounds, and he loves imitating faces, or coming up with one of his own and watching us laugh and do it back. The expression on Edmund's face is one of Jonathan's favorites. Randomly during dinner he'll just look at us and do that face. We love it.

Sleep

I'm amazed at the positions I see Jonathan sleeping in. Babies must never have limbs that tingle or fall asleep. On Thursday, I snuck into Jonathan's room to check on him, and I found him sound asleep with his leg sticking out of the crib and his arm pushed under the crib bumper. I couldn't resist taking a picture. I took it from the doorway without a flash, and he kept sleeping. (Lucky me!)

We took a bike ride this morning to K-Mart to get a new seat cover for Edmund's bike. (His old one was leaking gel.) I couldn't believe that Jonathan had fallen asleep. There isn't much support in that seat, and I kept accidentally hitting bumps. It just looks so uncomfortable, but I do love those chubby little legs.

Shapes

Jonathan loves the shapes toy my sister handed down to us. He loves to try and put the shapes through the holes, but when they don't fit, he either hands them to me or opens the top.

Twenty-Five

I'm 25! My birthday was nice, but very ordinary. Jonathan and I enjoyed playing together. I thought he might like to sit on the rocking chair. When I put him up there all the books in his room became visible, and he wasn't happy until he had all the books in his lap. Books: They are definitely his favorite toy.

Still Exploring

Jonathan discovered a new way to find his toys and to get them out to play.

Happy 1st Birthday!

It was Jonathan's first birthday on Saturday. We had Edmund's Auntie Shirley and Uncle Steve over to help us celebrate. Jonathan loved all the attention, cake, and his new clothes and toys! I can't believe how big he has gotten in the past year. I've spent this last week remembering what it was like being in labor, and learning to nurse, diaper, and dress a baby. He was so small and helpless when we brought him home from the hospital, and now he almost a child. I just can't believe how wonderful it has been to have this beautiful baby. I can hardly remember what life was like before he joined us. I know both Edmund and I have learned and grown a lot this past year. I also know we are excited to do it all again. Jonathan has been such a fantastic and fun little guy! I am looking forward to many more birthdays to come.

Stairs

Jonathan is a stair master! I love watching him climb all the way up. Unfortunately, I recorded it sideways.

Stacking

Jonathan has figured out his stacking toy. He puts it together and then claps. He is so proud of himself, and I am too!
