It's a boy!

We are having another boy! I feel lucky to have two boys close together. I remember my older brothers being close, and Edmund is close to his brother. I think it will be great fun to have two little boys making mischief together.

We have discussed names again and again, but I think we have finally settled on one. We had about five names, but we just weren't sure what name would go best as first or middle. In the end, we decided to name the new little boy after my dad, David and to use Edmund's middle name: David William Leemhuis.

Happy Birthday, Edmund!

It was also the day of my ultra sound. I wanted to remember this time how big I was at 21 weeks.

Edmund turned 28 this year, but we decided that we both stopped aging when we got married, so it was really just 25 again. I decided that Edmund deserved a toy, so I got him a remote control helicopter. It is fantastic.

Reader

Jonathan loves books, and he loves letters. He really enjoys pointing to letters and having Edmund or I tell them which one they are. His two favorites are E and O, almost every letter is an E or an O for him. If he reads a book to you, he says, "E-O-E-O-E-O," and he is very proud of himself. The other day when I got out of the shower, he was sitting on the floor leaning against a pillow reading the Kindle. It was really lucky to have the camera in the room with me!

Today, while Jonathan and I were out for a walk, he discovered that water meters had words on them. We had to stop at every water meter at every house so he could show me the letters and have me read them to him.

Snow!

We have had the most amazing snowless winter. With Edmund driving to Idaho Falls everyday, I could not have been happier about it. The past couple weeks we have been getting a little bit of snow. Jonathan loves it! He loves the puddles after it melts even more.

Eyes

Most pictures we take of Jonathan look like this, even if we don't use a flash. Or, he is trying to get the camera.

Haircut

Edmund and I gave Jonathan a short haircut. My sister-in-law Jen showed us how to give a good cut, so we gave it a try.

Daddy

Jonathan refused to pose for a picture with Daddy in their matching shirts. It was so disappointing. I guess pushing cars around is more fun.

Matching

I found a green polo for Jonathan that almost exactly matched one that Edmund has. It was so fun to have them be matching for a Saturday. Jonathan also loves playing with play dough. He loves you to roll it into balls. He also loves licking the play dough, which is okay, but I have to watch carefully because sometimes he sneaks little bites.
