David and Jonathan

I just need to write down some things that David has said lately.

It was raining one morning, and David said, "The world is taking a shower. The sun is not taking a shower. The sun is hiding beneath dark clouds."

On the same rainy morning, I was listening to The Erl King with David, and he said, "The Earl King take sick children to a fun place!" A few minutes later he said, "The Erl King is the BEST!"

Some Jonathan stories too.

Tonight Jonathan said, "I love my blankets. They keep me warm, and I have nightmares with happy endings!"

Jonathan is also now big kid because he lost his first tooth. It fell out while he was sleeping, and after taking his entire bed apart and moving it and taking off all the covers, we came to the conclusion that he must have swallowed it. He was very upset, but the tooth fairy came anyway.

January to Valentines!

We got so much snow this year! The snow plows came through a few times and blocked our driveway with an 18 inch wall of snow. We dug ourselves out and ended up with huge piles on either side of the driveway. They were great for climbing and sliding.

We got some tattoos somewhere. The boys loved them. We did a tattoo a day for a week.
A magical moment when Jonathan is reading to Caleb. Caleb loves fish. Caleb is growing so fast. I was trying to remember David's first words this morning, and I couldn't! So, I want write down right now what Caleb is saying these days. He says, fish, balloon (sounds like menen), popsicle, (sounds like doobeedee), cheese, apple, Josh (I have a boy that comes over and babysits while I teach, and Caleb loves him!), water, rock, vroom (meaning car or truck), airplane, orange, blue, boot (for shoes or boots), ant, train, where are you?, he counts (wagen, wagen, wagen,). He also cocka-doodle-doos, meows, barks, moos, snorts like a pig, and roars for a dinosaur. He is crazy about dinosaurs. It is a nice break from our first two who loved diggers and cars. He does an adorable two foot jump. He loves books. I could probably read to him all day. I feel like I spend a lot of time keeping him away from Jonathan and David's towers of Legos or Magnetiles.
Sipping something off the table, and Jonathan cleaning it up.

 Marble run.
Jonathan punctured his foot on a wire in the basement. It took me forever to figure out what did it because he didn't' want to go downstairs to show me, and David's story kept changing. Eventually, I figured out that he had jumped from the top of the card table house onto the wires hanging out of the wall for surround sound (which we don't have. It came with the house.) It took its time to heal. It was pretty painful for him.

Jonathan and David are always asking me what colors go together to make other colors. They are color masters. We tried a few different experiments. This one was okay. It didn't work like I hoped.

This one was awesome. Make fizzy, foamy, cups in different colors then watch what happens when it all spills over and the colors blend.

The frost clung to the trees every morning. It was beautiful. I just rolled down my window one morning on my way out of the neighborhood.
I got a museum membership this year, and I love it! We get to go all the time. It was especially amazing this very long, cold winter. This exhibit is totally hands on and interactive. Fabulous!

White Rabbit's Color book. We had a copy, and we were given a copy. Perfect.
 More fizzy, foamy cups!

Daddy's 31 Birthday!! Happy Birthday! I am so lucky to be married to this incredible man. I cannot begin to express how much I love him. He is a one of kind husband and father!

 The loot from Valentine's Day!
I had a little Valentine's day party, and we made animals from hearts. I used the "My Heart is a Zoo" book as an example, but they did their own thing. Very sweet and creative kids!
