Family Pictures

My friend Kathy's daughter Shelbie, Dash Photography, took our family pictures this year. She has a darling little studio in her basement that had a surprising number of options. Poor David was a very sleepy boy and quite mesmerized by the camera, so it was nearly impossible to get him to smile. Jonathan did really well. She had some toy cars that he was able to play with if he cooperated. Overall, I was very impressed.

Bus People

I love how quickly David is getting from one place to another. I took these pictures in pretty quick succession, and you can tell how much he just rolls from his belly to his back over and over again. He also likes to kick off of things. I guess this helps him get to his goal quicker. In this case his goal was the bus. I didn't get a picture fast enough of when he actually got the bus before Jonathan rushed over.

 Jonathan: "Take it!"
Mommy: "Give him a new toy to play with. Don't put it on his back, he can't see it."

Jonathan got these neat Playmobile people from Grandma Leemhuis, and he has enjoyed putting them in the bus.

 Jonathan: "Fireman in bus!"

Sitting Up!

David is sitting up!

 And falling over!

Playing Together

I feel like we finally hit a breakthrough. Jonathan has been much much less jealous of David and will even happily play with him. I think the magic happened when Edmund helped David roll balls to Jonathan and encouraged Jonathan to roll them back. After that, Jonathan thinks it is fun to play with David, and he just lights up when Jonathan is in the room. David is all smiles for him and laughs with unparalleled delight when Jonathan sings or makes silly noises. It sure makes my life wonderful!

That is a fake credit card we got in the mail.

Love Sprinkles, Love Yogurt

I discovered that David loves yogurt. He is actually pretty picky about what he will eat. So far, he will only eat rice cereal, yogurt, and bananas. He will not take more than one bite of sweet potatoes, apple sauce, peas, or corn. We will have to work to expand his taste buds. Since David likes yogurt, Jonathan does too. Jonathan will eat anything I feed to David, except mushed up bananas. The other day I made both boys yogurt, Jonathan will eat his better if there are sprinkles, and Jonathan said happily, "Love yogurt! Love Sprinkles!"

Jonathan is actually wearing David's bib. David just takes it off, so I don't even bother, but Jonathan gets upset if he spills on his shirt, so he requests a bib, and I couldn't find his.
