Mesa Falls Marathon

We did the family fun run up in Ashton. It was great to get away from all the smoke and enjoy some fresh mountain air. We hiked around Mesa Falls and Warm River. The boys sure loved all the animal furs they had at the lodge at Mesa Falls. Caleb especially went nuts over the stuffed bear. We splashed in Warm River (which is a joke because it is the coldest river I've ever put my feet in.) Jonathan and David were impressed by the waterfall and especially the rainbow created by the water spray.

The run was such a blast! Jonathan ran the whole thing then ran back to run the finish with David. David ran over half. They both loved it! On our way back from the falls we stopped and got free rootbeer floats form a drive-in in Ashton.

It was so smokey outside it smelled like a camp fire. Caleb was all wheezy and hoarse, and I was having a hard time sleeping at night. I am so glad the smoke has been better.

Last of Summer Fun!

Caleb is getting close to walking, and he is feeling proud!

Edmund found these adrable wheels to put on sugar cookie cars!

Brothers!!

Grandma Chelle!

My mom came and saw us the last week in August! It was wonderful of her to drive so far and spend a few days with us. It was a break I really needed! We went to Porter Park and even though it was freezing, the boys loved getting wet in the splash park. We rode bikes at Snake River Landing. Jonathan fell between two rocks and got a huge bump on his head and his ear was pretty messed up. We loved spending time with Grandma-Chelle, Thank you!!

I can't remember if I wrote out my early morning adventures, but I'll tell it again. Caleb got up super early, 5:30 on average. I'd get up with him and put him in the front pack and hike around the neighborhoods around Judi's house. I came across these mysterious steps heading into the woods one morning. It was a little spooky, but I knew even if I got lost, I'd run into someone eventually. I made it safely through these woods no problem, so the next day I wandered over to Lynn Canyon. I got super lost. I wandered around for a while, and eventually, I saw the suspension bridge. I had somehow crossed the canyon without noticing. Luckily, my cell phone had service, and I let Edmund know I was lost and I'd be a little late coming home. I was never gone for very long, and the solitude and quiet were so refreshing. Vancouver is a beautiful place.

Little Leo is a favorite! Although, he did swat Caleb, so he is on my bad list.
I imagine little baby Edmund sleeping in this same crib!

 So tired!!
