Grandma-Chelle and Julia

Mom and Julia came and visited last week. It was such a blast. I loved having them here to spoil Jonny and I with love and attention. Even the weather cleared up for the most part. Jonny absolutely adored Julia. He really responded to her and got excited when she played with him. (I wish I could have gotten a picture of the two together. It was like magic.)He really enjoyed peek-a-boo. Julia would hide in the living room and Jonny would be jumping in his jumper. Then, she would suddenly pop up where he could see her, and it made him laugh and laugh and laugh. He also really loved Grandma-Chelle. He really enjoyed standing on her lap and dancing to the music. Both Julia and Mom brought Jonny a ball to play with. The past couple of days Edmund and I have both really enjoyed rolling the ball across the floor to him. He has remarkable aim. He throws it right back! (Unless he accidentally drops it behind him.) He also makes an adorable grunting noise when he catches it and then throws it back: like a triumphant grunt.

Sitting Up

Jonny has discovered that he can sit up. Now, whenever I lay him down (in his crib or on the floor) he is right back to sitting up in a flash. He has several methods. He rolls onto his stomach, he pushes himself up into crawling position, stands with his toes and kind of walks his way up, and he sits down on his bum. He also rolls onto his stomach, does the spits, and pushes his way up. And lastly, he rolls onto his stomach, puts one leg up, and pushes himself onto his bum. They are all wonderful to see. I'm going to keep trying to catch it on video!

New Job

Edmund has a new job at Nitro Security in Idaho Falls. It was the easiest job hunt ever: one resume, one interview, one offer. It couldn't have gone better. He is excited to do more development than he does now, and overall, it is a perfect fit for him. The only drawback is the drive to Idaho Falls.

At first, I wasn't sure how to feel about it. It seemed to happen so suddenly that I didn't have time to prepare myself for it. But now that it has been a couple of weeks, I'm feeling much better. I think that change, even if it is for the better, is difficult. There is always a little bit of fear associated with change. We have a lot to anticipate, and we are very excited.

Sunglasses

We had to go to Idaho Falls this weekend to hunt for a carseat. We looked at all the possible stores, Target, Toys-R-Us, and Wal-Mart, and we were unsuccessful, but we did find a pair of sunglasses for Jonny. He always loves pulling Edmund's off of his face and then chewing on them, so we thought he could use a pair of his own. I think he liked the different colors it made everything he looked at.
