Jonathan loves the primary songs. He especially loves the ones with actions. His favorites for a long time was "Popcorn Popping" and "Once There Was a Snowman," but now he likes "The Wise Man." He does the signs for the song, so we know which one to sing. He also requests "Beam!" ("Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam") every time I get out my violin. Lately, he has been asking for "Bay Bee Bee" (not in the primary book.) Since the song talks about squishing up a baby bumblebee, I just stick to the first verse.

It has been really nice to start to understand what he tells us. We have been trying to teach him please (It sounds like "wreeee."), but most of the time he just grunts angrily. I think his most clear word is "cookie." He says it backwards and forwards: "eekoo" or "cookIEE." He has also started asking for candy at the grocery store. He actually stands up in the cart and scares me to death trying to get out on his own to reach the "deeeee, dee!"

He has also discovered that he can go down the slide all by himself as long as Edmund or I are waiting at the bottom. Edmund found out recently that Jonathan can climb up the ladder at the back of the play thing in our back yard. He only has a little trouble because the Velcro on his shoes get stuck.

Jonathan continues to love to point to letters and find out what they are, and he also pretends to count. Although, Edmund tickles him on the count of three, and Jonathan will say something that sounds like one, two, three. Usually, he just skips to three. His favorite letters used to be "E" and "O", but lately he loves the letter "B."
