The Leemhuis Family

Edmund's family came down a couple of weeks ago to take Elisabeth and big Jonathan down to school. It was fun watching Elisabeth get ready to go to college for the first time. It brought back so many fun memories. I always love having company, and it was so so nice to have Edmund's family around. Hopefully little Jonathan will remember them at Christmas.

Landslide

If I blink, this is what happens to the living room.

Sleep

The transitions are never ending with a baby. As soon as I think I have Jonathan all figured out, he changes again. Only a couple of weeks ago Jonathan was taking a 45-1 hour nap in the morning and another 1 1/2-2 hour nap in the afternoon, then overnight he gave up morning naps, and now his schedule is all crazy again. Somedays he takes a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon, and somedays (like yesterday) he only sleeps 30 mins. Sometimes it is hard for me to change with him and give up all that precious time. I've been trying to remember all the things Jonathan and I do really well together: taking walks and playing at he park and unloading the dishwasher and reading books. He does so many things well; I guess it is okay that napping isn't one of them. When he is sleeping and I can sneak in without waking him up, I love looking at that adorable little boy snoozing so contentedly.

Footed Pajamas

Summer feels like it has ended. It still gets up into the 80s most days, but the nights are getting cold. The transition happened overnight. As soon as it was September 1st, it cooled off. To me, it feels like October. One this I do love about the cooler weather is footed pajamas. I think Jonathan is too cute in those close fitting pjs, and I never have to worry about his little feeties getting cold. Although this past week, we had to move from the thin pjs into the thicker fuzzy ones. They make Jonathan feel like a little teddy bear.

Dishwasher

Jonathan loves the dishwasher. It doesn't matter where he is in the house; as soon as he hears the dishing clinking, he comes crawling as quick as he can. He does a great job unloading the dishes. I have to be quick getting all the breakable ones out. It will be nice when he is older and can put them in the right place. He also liked to climb on top of the dishwasher, so he can see what is on top of the counter top. He has pulled down a couple of glasses which shattered all over the floor. It was scary trying to get it swept up before he could find all the little pieces, but I managed.
