Brothers

Jonathan is a good big brother most of the time. He is good to me too, but sometimes I have a hard time telling the difference between when he is trying to help and when he is being mischievous. I know he is trying to help when instead of sweeping up my dust pile he takes his little broom and sweeps it all over the kitchen. He also puts dirty clothes in the dryer while I'm putting in the clean wet ones from the washer. On the other hand, I know he is being mischievous when he grabs David's feet while I am trying to feed him, or he stands right by David's head while he is nursing and screams about going downstairs or reading books or playing cars or play dough or playing with my phone (which I hide). Luckily, 90% of the time Jonathan is quite content to wait patiently while the nursing is going on.

Speaking of nursing and patience, David has decided that instead of eating every 1 1/2 to 2 hours and just one side that he would like to wait 2-3 hours and eat both sides. This works fine except that he takes his pretty little time eating, so Jonathan finds it difficult to wait 30-40 minutes while David eats. It's hard to think of errands to send Jonathan around the house for that long too. There are only so many times you can play with the bowls in the kitchen or set the table for a party, but we are learning together.

Thunder Thighs

David is getting so fat. He is much fatter than Jonathan ever was. His size 6 months clothes look like muscle shirts. I just love it. He was 15 lbs at ten weeks and 24 inches long. That makes him a little taller than average and quite fat.

David has a birth mark on his back. It is called "Strawberry Something-or-Other." It sounds like Brushetta, but that isn't it. I've asked the doctor twice, and I just can't remember the name. It is supposed to get much bigger and lumpier, and then almost disappear by the time he is two or three.

It looks like he has arm muscles.

He is getting so good with his head.

More Smiles

Double chin!

Sometimes David smiles so big I feel like there is just not enough mouth or face to contain it. I love having such a cheerful happy baby!

Sesame Street and Shoes

Jonathan requests "Elmo" almost every day. It gives me a chance to feed David and get him down for his first nap without too much noise.

Jonathan loves to wear Daddy's and Mommy's shoes. It's fun to watch him try and walk around in them, especially the high heels.
