Happy Birthday!

I'm not 100% sure why you would ever need to shake your legs, but that is what this machine does. Jonathan loved it.
 

We took a hike to Lynn Valley Canyon in the morning with Adam and Elisabeth. I think this is my very favorite place in Vancouver. It is probably a five minute drive from the Leemhuis house, and you just disappear out of the city and into a gorgeous forest. Amazing.

Jonathan wanted to eat breakfast for all three meals on his birthday. We had cereal for breakfast, scrambled eggs for lunch, and pancakes for dinner. He probably ate more that day than any other day in his life.

Elisabeth decorated this amazing cake for Jonathan. It was delicious! Jonathan just couldn't wait for us to dish it up so he could eat it.

He took a sneaky lick while everyone was getting plates and what not.

Canada Day!

 This is the Sunday before Canada Day. Grandma Judi has some amazing books, and she was wonderful to get down her favorites and read them to the boys.

 We played at the park simultaneous to watching the parade, so the boys were happily entertained. It was a good thing we played at the park before it ended because as soon as it was over a hoard of children came to play.

The neighbors invited us to go to the parade with them. Unfortuantely, David took a monster morning nap, so we didn't get to go with them, but we still went to the parade. Jonathan's favorite part was definitely the fire trucks.

Painting

Jonathan loves to paint. He not only paints paper. He loves to paint his hands, arms, and even his feet. It is a pretty messy business, but it is a lot of fun too!

Sunday

 Pre-nap pictures were too exhausting. We did much better after they woke up.

Jonathan loves a big hug and some mommy cuddles, and I do too!

Happy Birthday!

 So tired after birthday morning festivities!

 It was David's first birthday, but since we were going to be in Canada on Jonathan's birthday we celebrated them both together. David is a candle blowing out champion. He didn't have any trouble blowing out his candle. We did it about five times until he decided he wanted to know what fire felt like, and he put it out with his finger. Ouch!
