Summer Visitors

My mom and dad came in August for a quick visit, and we had so much fun. We had a BBQ in the backyard one night, and the boys just loved playing in this awesome pool I found at the grocery store. They usually end up getting in with their shirts on because then we don't have to do sunscreen on their tummies.

Grandma-chelle got the boys church shirts, and I found them matching ties. I have the most adorable boys in the world!

Grandma-Chelle and Jonathan did a painting project together where you put tape down and then fill the page with color. When you take the tape off you have white lines that look like aspen trees in the fall.

Bubba is the best rough houser. Those boys loved being tickled and pulled gently around. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Playing

David is officially a stair master (for about 3 months now.) He can go up and down the stairs without falling or scaring me to death. He and Jonathan love to throw balls down the stairs and then carry them back up again.

Jonathan has been surprising us with how many songs he knows. We sat down for FHE a couple months ago and he sang all the words to "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "I am a Child of God." He knows many other songs too. He is so amazing! He loves to play his violin and sing along.

David pushes this elephant around the house all day, and Jonathan takes control of this wagon. I'm glad we have two toys with wheels!

4th of July

Jonathan told us many times that Grandpa was old. He is looking pretty good here though!

Stanley Park

After the wedding, Edmund took Jonathan on a train ride in Stanley park. (I waited in the car with a sleeping David.) Jonathan had a blast. He loves trains, not as much as he loves diggers, but he was very enthusiastic about it. They also had an Native American man doing a traditional dance and wearing a traditional costume. Jonathan liked the drum beats and danced a bit too. After David woke up, we took a walk around the train loop. Jonathan collected leaves. I love Stanley Park.

Wedding

We went to Edmund's neighbor's wedding. It was in the woods at Stanley park. They had bubbles, and this is Edmund's other neighbor blowing bubbles for the boys. She kicked a ball around with Jonathan too, it was super nice.

Rice Lake

I had never been to Rice Lake before.  It was just above Lynn Canyon. I can't believe how close all these beautiful things are to the Leemhuis house. We had a lot of fun hiking with Grandma!

Aquarium

We went to the Vancouver Aquarium. The special thing they had was an awesome display of different kinds of jelly fish. Jonathan thought they were really cool because they glowed in the dark.

They have a tide pool where you can reach in your hand and touch sea urchins and starfish. I was impressed by Jonathan's bravery. He seemed to really enjoy reaching in his hand and touching the different things.
This bubble allowed you to look inside this tank that was full of tiny little frogs.
These are the Amazon fish. They were enormous! This was David's favorite part.

Down below the dolphin tank they had a children's play area. They had some awesome dolphin costumes that we enjoyed.

Tanya brought the boys birthday presents and a very delicious cake. The most amazing thing was that they actually let her hold them. They had a lot of fun blowing out candles.
