Matching!

More Grandma-Chelle outfits!!

Sand box

Grandma-Chelle bought the boys a sand box, and it has made many many hours of fun!

Caleb's first month

Jonathan absolutely adores Caleb. He is always asking about him and trying to make him smile and touching his soft hair (which Caleb loves). Caleb is a very smiley baby. He is already doing a social smile and he almost never cries. He doesn't like his carseat and pretty much cries every time we go somewhere. He is truly a magical baby. He has been only waking up twice at night and goes right back to sleep. Of course, that could change any day, but I'm loving it now!

Caleb doesn''t really like his baths that much, but he is getting so he doesn't scream the whole time.

The boys think they have to kiss everyone including each other on the lips.

Birthday

My poor niece had to have her birthday the day after I went into the hospital. It was probably her worst birthday ever, but she was such a good sport.  My mom did manage to make a cake, so that was remarkable. It was a stressful day for everyone (so I heard.) I spent the day sleeping in the ICU.

Stroke

Delivery was awesome, and I was feeling like a million bucks when three days after Caleb was born I had a stroke. The world started spinning, and I thought it would just pass, but it didn't. I had Caleb in a diaper on the floor, and I was taking pictures. I laid down and shut my eyes and everything started spinning even faster. I realized I needed help. (I was home alone while everyone went to church.) I crawled to the kitchen. Everything felt like it was upside down or sideways. I knocked my phone off the counter and in a blur of spinning called Edmund. (That was the first miracle: being able to see well enough to call Edmund.) I said I needed help. My mom came home and tried to get me to bed, but I just started throwing up all over the floor and couldn't move. I don't really remember too much after that. I know Edmund came home and some how got me into bed. My mom took care of Caleb, and I nursed him lying on my side. I started throwing up again after a while and Dad and Edmund carried me to the car. I couldn't really walk because everything was sideways. They have me an MRI in the hospital and said I was having a stroke. I spent 3 days in the ICU. They were worried my brain was going to start swelling, but it didn't! A month later and I am almost normal! (I still get tired easily and I can't walk too far without feeling like I'm going to fall asleep.) My mom was a total Angel. She was Caleb's mom and then his nurse when I came home. I was able to pump milk in the hospital, so I kept up my milk. That poor baby! He is probably the most sweetest, good nurtured, cutest little guy in the whole world! These are the pictures I took just before my stroke. Poor baby was left laying on the floor in his diaper until my mom came home from church.

Caleb Edmund

Caleb was born on July 17! He weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. He was born at 7:45 a.m. I started labor insanely tired, so getting him into the world was very exhausting, but he came easily (7.5 hours of labor.) The nurses at the hospital were absolutely amazing. They held my hand and pushed on my hips (amazingly took away a lot of the pain.) After breaking my water and the contractions slowing down, they rolled my onto my side and told me I could push whenever I wanted, so when I was ready I just pushed and little Caleb started crowning. Everyone panicked and some random doctor came in and delivered Caleb onto the foot of the bed while my doctor was getting on scrubs. My doctor delivered the placenta and helped Edmund cut the chord.  I had no tears, and it was shaping up to be the most miraculous recovery ever. My darling niece Clarissa came the week before and she stayed with the boys while Edmund took me to the hospital in the middle of the night. It was awesome to not have to call on neighbors. The boys loved her and she was amazing at getting up early and playing with them. What a life saver!
