Dinner at Judd and Amber's

It is amazing how much difference two months can make in little babies. David is 5 months and Elanor is 3.

Jonathan managed to sit in the fish tank and had to wear a pair of his cousin Juliette's pants.

Nicholas and I found Judd's nose and glasses. I remember Judd wearing these in high school.

Thanksgiving!

At last! For a while the blog wouldn't let me upload pictures, so I just waited a really long time, and it let me again. We had an AMAZING Thanksgiving in Grand Junction with my family. Edmund took the whole week off, and I actually felt like we got to spend some quality time with my family. We did something every single day together. Jonathan really opened up and decided that having cousins was truly a wonderful thing. He especially loved Clarissa and Newell. The other day we were driving to the grocery store and he said thoughtfully while looking out the window, "Newell." He kind of whispered it, so I said, "Are you thinking about Newell."
Jonathan said, "Yes, crawl." He really had a wonderful time crawling with Newell. Thank you everyone for being wonderful examples and going out of your way to play with Jonathan!

We took a hike to Echo Canyon on the Colorado National Monument. I'm glad Jonathan wasn't old enough to run around like a crazy man and climb up rocks, but I know it is just a matter of time.

Halloween

I have always loved Halloween, but I had no idea how fun it could be once you had children. Jonathan, who is typically very reserved and hides behind my legs around strangers, eagerly ran up door to door and said, "Teat." and once he had received it said very quietly, "Tank-Ewe." Because he has such a little voice, at one door the lady said, "What do you say," and he said, "Pease." At another door, the lady that answered said, "Hi!" in a kind-of sing song high pitched way, and Jonathan promptly said, "Hi!" in the exact same high pitched kind of voice. He was really good about not eating all of his candy at once or even asking for it. He had a sucker while we walked around, and maybe one other piece when we got home.

David is wearing his snowsuit. It worked out because he looked like a dinosaur.

We live right across the street from a group of town homes. It was really fun to have so many houses in such a little space. Perfect for a two year old. They are also in our ward, so it was wonderful to not only know all the other trick-or-treaters but to also know most of the people who answered the doors. I just love Rexburg for things like this.
Jonathan wanted to take the lids off of all the pumpkins.

Jonathan was dressed as a puppy. My mom has made some beautiful costumes in a variety of sizes. It is always fun to see which one he will fit into.

Pumpkin

Edmund and Jonathan carved a pumpkin together. Jonathan was not interested in putting his hand or even touching the insides. However, he loved lighting and blowing out the pumpkin candles,

Feet. Yummy!

We had to do a little editing. I totally forgot about covering that cute little thing up.

Cookies

Emmy was the sprinkle queen. She used so many sprinkles on her cookies you could hardly see the frosting. It was super.
Maryanna really wanted to sit in the high chair. Apparently, she never used her chair at home, so her parents got rid of it. She was excited to use it at my house.
I always love having Lisa over to chat. As a mother of five, she always has fun stories and great advice when I need it.
Jonathan got frosting on his nose trying to eat his cookies like a cat.
I had my friend Lisa and her two little girls Emmy and Maryanna over to decorate Halloween cookies. It felt more like Christmas outside, but since Halloween is the next holiday I forced myself to make cat, ghost, and moon cookies. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the activity went. Jonathan loved dumping sprinkles and M&Ms on his cookies, and of course, eating them. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. It is definitely something to do again.

Snowman

The snow just kept coming this weekend. Saturday afternoon Edmund took Jonathan outside to play. I looked out the window and saw Edmund rolling the biggest snowballs I had ever seen in my life. Then, I saw him trying to lift them on top of each other. I quickly grabbed my boots and camera and baby monitor (David was sleeping) and rushed outside to help. Jonathan was delighted with the outcome of the giant snowman. We also showed him that you could eat the snow. (Probably not the best idea, but who doesn't love a little snow?) After he tried it, he couldn't put it down.
