Jude

I'm watching
you watch.
Legs
kicking, arms reaching.
Dreaming of
moving.
Loud, happy
shrieks.
Chewing on
hot wheels.
Mimicking
almost,
your
brothers' play.
"No,
No, Stay Small!"
Squeezing
you, I
snuggle you
close.
We walk.
Balancing
fat baby legs on
my bony left
hip.
Now up to my
shoulder,
Now perched
on my knee.
My arms
ache,
My back is
stiff.
I lay you
down.
Dreaming of
days when
You move on
your own.
