We took a ride on an old steam train. They only run the steam train once a month, so we just got lucky. Usually, they use an old diesel. We rode along the Sacramento River.
The upstairs of the train museum had a kids area and about ten train tables. They also had a bunch of model trains on display. I loved the miniature of a steam train. They used them build them as prototypes or to use as demonstrations.
The train museum was absolutely amazing. So many trains! You could walk through the trains. I learned a lot about a dining car because there was someone in there who was an expert. Something like 1,000 dishes a day on a train in the old days. I said, "How did they keep the dishes from breaking?" The man said, "They broke a lot of dishes. You used to be able to walk by the train tracks and find pieces of china."
