Grandma-Chelle and Bubba came to visit a week or so before we left for England. We all love their visits. We had fun fishing, celebrating birthdays, watching Jonathan and David compete in a triathlon, go to the Zoo, Funland, and the Museum!
Fishing! The boys got fishing poles for their birthday, so it was fun to have Bubba the fisherman take them with Edmund! |
Feeding the ducks at the zoo. |
It isn't a trip to the zoo without a picture on the tiger. |
New baby zebra. There was a baby camel this year and a baby snow leopard. The lions had a cub, but he died. |
Funland. There are five rides a Funland. I believe they are all from the 60s. Caleb liked the train for a little. Then, he cried because it was too loud! |
Airplanes are always a win. |
Jonathan threw his lot in with this spider thing. He made it twice around before he had had enough, but what a tough guy! No one wanted to go with him, so he did it alone! |

Kids Tri-Harder |
Watching these boys run in with huge grins on their faces, and knowing they feel so proud of themselves, makes me so happy! Jonathan successfully swam across the pool a week before the triathlon, but on the day of, he chickened out. I ended up carrying David across while Jonathan held onto my arm for dear life. David kept kicking his feet and saying, "I'm swimming, I'm swimming!" |
Kissing their medals. |
Caleb really wanted to do it too, He wouldn't take the life vest off, and refused to let anyone else wear it. Luckily, David didn't want it because he knew I'd carry him. |
Later, we went to the museum. The American Revolution people were there doing demonstrations. What a lucky day! |
The boys got to make a copy of The Declaration of Independence. |
Bubba reading Bubba the Cowboy. We heard that story at least twice a day, probably more. |
Finally using the letters Grandma Leemhuis gave them for their birthday! |
